OBESITY

What is obesity?

It is an unusual and excessive fat accumulation in the body that can be harmful to your health.

Its fundamental origin lies in an energy balance alteration between calorie intake and calorie expenditure.

⚠ In Argentina, 6 out of every 10 adults suffers from excess body weight. Overall, this is due to the increased intake of hypercaloric ultra-processed foods rich in salt, sugar, and bad fats, low in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other essential micronutrients. Furthermore, the decrease in regular exercise stacks up to this.

Obesity is a RISK FACTOR for several chronic, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as:

✅ Cardiovascular disease.

✅ Diabetes mellitus.

✅ Some types of cancer.

However, did you know that you can prevent obesity?

Lifestyle changes such as including a healthy diet and daily exercise are crucial to prevent and control this disease.

My Advice:

✅Consult a nutritionist for a well-planned diet that fits your needs.

✅Distribute your food intake according to the four main meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner)

✅ Have veggies and fruit daily...

✅Drink water as your primary beverage.

✅ Incorporate dry nuts, legumes, whole cereals, and seeds into your diet.✅ Limit sugar and alcohol consumption.

✅Exercise regularly, according to your medical prescription.

✅ Give your body the necessary amount of quality rest.
